WHAT TO EXPECT

We’ll give you all of our expert knowledge in detail upon your arrival. But for now, here’s a snapshot:

  • Ice-out typically occurs during the 2nd week of May

  • Fishing season begins the 3rd Saturday in May

  • Since lake trout prefer water temperatures 52° or colder, they feed all the way up to the surface until the beginning of June

  • Bright-colored spoons, stick baits or in-line spinners can be trolled just under the surface of the water to catch trophy lakers

  • Use fish finders to locate trout suspended in the water column (these lake trout are feeding and, thus, easier to catch than the trout near the bottom)

  • Trigger strikes by using a zigzag trolling pattern and varying boat speed

AVERAGE temps

Early June
