The Canadian border opened to vaccinated US travellers on August 9, 2021, which gave us a six-week season at Pine Cliff Lodge. It was a gift to finally be able to serve you again!
We heard numerous times from guests that this was "the best year yet" for fishing on Big Sandy. Here is a snapshot of the fish caught this summer:

THE SCOOP ON THE BORDER
The US-Canada border is now open to fully vaccinated US travellers. We have no indication that the Canadian government will lift these restrictions in 2022 to allow entry to non-vaccinated travellers. For more details on border crossing and entry requirements, click the button below.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The main lodge is currently under construction. We completed demolition of the tackle shop, kitchen and storage room, which had sunk into the ground and began to rot. While the border was closed, we used the time to construct the shell of a new addition to the lodge. The goal of this project is to create a check-in area, lounge and larger tackle shop that is separate from the host's living quarters. Currently the check-in area doubles as the host's living room, dining room, kids play room and office. The additional space will allow us to enhance the guest experience as well as offer some new amenities for guests, to be announced as progress is made. Stay tuned!
NO MORE DIAL-UP INTERNET!
Ok, so it wasn't dial-up, but it might as well have been. We're grateful to announce that we FINALLY have satellite internet at the lodge with unlimited data! Wifi is still not available from the cabins, but at least now guests may make wifi calls and use FaceTime to check in with family and friends from the main lodge. We also now have free long-distance calling between the US, Canada and Mexico. No more payphone and calling cards needed.
